Yoga is a State of Mind

In Scotland, gyms and yoga studios are set to re-open at the end of August. However, I don't think this is going to mean we will (or even should) go back to the way we were.
Many people are lamenting the old days. Certainly, in terms of yoga, getting adjustments in Ashtanga postures were always welcomed. Having Chai on a Sunday afternoon after Judi Farrell's Led Primary class (www.merchantcityyoga.com) was often the highlight of the weekend. It was where we connected with our "tribe".
However, I think the genie of online yoga classes is out of the bag. There are also benefits in online classes. Personally, I have been able to join in online yoga classes much more frequently than the same classes face-to-face.
Attending 6pm classes in a yoga studio in Glasgow city centre, could be a logistical nightmare in rush-hour traffic. Similar early morning classes were impossible due to time constraints. Yet, having online classes (and working from home) allows me to attend either easily and with more regularity.
Perhaps new "normal" will be a combination of face-to-face yoga and online yoga. Both have their benefits.
For me it's highlighted that, no matter what happens, we can continue our yoga practice anywhere, any way and at any time. It's really up to us where we want to take it. Our yoga is inside us. It's a state of mind.
